Thank you for recommending my book, Guatemala: Eternal Spring, Eternal Tyranny (WW Norton). It was a labor of love. I would also heartily recommend a book published in 2007, "The Art of Political Murder: Who Killed Bishop Gerardi?" by Francisco Goldman. This book will be released in softcover in Sept. 2008. It is a wrenching piece of non-fiction that says as much about the impunity of state-sponsored violence in Guatemala -- even under civilian rule -- as it does about the killing of Bishop Gerardi.
