Gene's Girls!
This is one of the photos that I was so upset about loosing back in Antigua when I deleted all 998 of my photos fooling around with my camera! Que suerte! Afortunadamente I had also saved it on Gene's PDA because it was so cute!

Hi Laurie,
I've just found your Guatemala Blog and have read thru a good bit of it. I am moved by your wonderful commentaries and photos. I should say at this point that my first visit out of the US was in '86 when I went on an exchange program from USF here in Tampa and spent six weeks studying there in Antigua.
I said above that I was moved by your commentaries because I had forgotten how much I loved being there (our group stayed the entire six weeks in Antigua) and learning about a new culture. I particularly enjoyed experiencing the Mayan culture.
What really amazes me though is that no one else has posted any comments or asked a single question about the many and varied things you have posted. So let me just say, ¡Mil Gracias!
I only found the little link on your main CR blog page today; hadn't noticed it earlier. But let me tell you, you may have just as well smacked me across the forehead with a two by four: Reading your stuff is revivng so many beautiful memories of Antigua, the country, and the culture.
I do not know how much longer you will be in Antigua but I will be reading all your blogs forward.
BTW, If you have not yet seen it, you might find a visit to the Popenoe House worth a tour. It's just off the SE corner of the parque central in Antigua. It's one of the earliest dwellings in the town and is beautifully restored, a marvelous example of a preserved colonial-style house.
¡Pura Vida! from Tampa,
Paul M.
